On Friday, October 25, four municipal agents, in charge of security at the entrance to the Cap d'Agde naturist camp, were sentenced to prison for acts of violence against four victims, the last of whom had been on 45 days of temporary incapacity for work.

Only one defendant sent to detention

The youngest of the officers, aged 23, was placed in custody at the end of the hearing. The three other defendants, aged between 23 and 61 and involved to varying degrees, were sentenced to terms ranging from one year in prison, suspended, to one year in prison, without a custody warrant. The only prisoner in this case, who came to this position of responsibility following his father, a close friend of Gilles d’Ettore, the former mayor of Agde, appealed his detention and this Thursday, December 19, the magistrates kept him behind bars, against the advice of the representative of the public prosecutor.

He will be tried on appeal, and on the merits of this case, this Monday, December 23, before the Montpellier Court of Appeal.
“He is paying dearly for his actions, but the reasons for his conviction are not usual. He will be criticized for his attitude in court, assures his lawyer, Luc Abratkievicz. I hope that on appeal, we will see the file otherwise.”
