Volleyball: Arago de Sète still can't finish the job

Dans le derby d’Occitanie, les Sétois ont été généreux, battus 2-3 par Toulouse ce samedi 25 janvier.

Beaten in the first leg in the Ville Rose after leading 2-0, the Toulousains returned the favor to the Sète players, once again unable to finish the job.

The locals attacked hard: 7-3 then 12-6 after an ace from Schlienger, who held his own with his fourth attack at 18-14. De Leon widened the gap with two aces at 21-14 and a missed serve from Feral put an end to this start (25-17).

In the 2nd set, Arago kept the lead: 8-7 with a counter from Schlienger. The pointy player then concluded a “marathon” point, then was followed by De Leon who scored an ace to break (12-9). The Brazilian was also valuable with a new ace at 20-17, while the visitors seemed to be able to come back. This new break was the last, the set ended on a missed serve from Duflos-Rossi (25-22).

Five reasons to have regrets

Toulouse was not there. And the score logically remained in Sète's favor (15-11). Alas, the lights were going to go out suddenly. After two aces from Duflos-Rossi (15-14), Feral followed suit and literally destroyed the Sète reception (17-21). However, the Toulousains got tangled up and offered five match points to the Sètes. But with De Leon unable to put the ball on the ground on his three attempts, the Toulousains ended up accepting the gifts, the last being a missed attack from Schlienger (29-31).

With Leon absent, Schlienger was then the only one to score points for Sète and that was not enough (19-25). And in the tie-break, after leading 8-5 then 11-9, Sète had a sixth match point (14-13). The opportunity to redeem themselves for the 3rd set ? Missed, alas. Feral, for his part, did not ask himself any questions. The Toulouse player scored two aces and thus left Arago to its questions (14-16).
