Volleyball: same causes, same effects for Arago de Sète which is no longer moving forward

We take the same and, alas, we start again. A week after the defeat in the derby against Montpellier, the Sète volleyball players produced an almost exact copy, this Saturday in Saint-Nazaire.

A collective that disappears

There was thus a match during two sets. Arago could even have led 0-2 with a minimum of realism during the first. After leading 18-22 then having benefited from five set points, the Sète players effectively gave up on the only set point for the locals (30-28).

They then recovered but, as too often recently, showed no consistency in their ideas. Like Schlienger in particular, the collective has gradually disappeared. Dominated once again in the big widths (25-16 and 25-17), Arago has shown itself incapable of competing.

Hope is diminishing a little more each week

Have the players given up mentally? All the signs indicate this, even if this mental fragility could have been detected from the first day of the championship. The fact remains that the situation is starting to become particularly problematic, even prohibitive if we take into account this chronic lack of rebellion. Today, Arago is tenth in the standings, five points behind Paris, which is bringing up the rear of the qualifiers for the playoffs. And with only three points ahead of Narbonne, second to last…

As things stand, it is difficult to imagine that the season will go further than the regular phase. There are eight days left, several teams are gaining momentum in the accounting circle of Arago, which, for its part, has conceded its fifth consecutive defeat. It would be good to sound the revolt, starting this Saturday in Castelnau-le-Lez against Toulouse, at least to avoid a long and painful end to the exercise.
