La compagnie Volotea installée sur le tarmac aveyronnais depuis le 2 septembre 2024 pour assurer la liaison vers Paris-Orly propose de relier Rodez aux trois aéroports de la Corse à partir du mois d’avril.

The airline Volotea continues to strengthen its presence in Aveyron after the opening of the daily connection to Paris-Orly. Three new destinations were recently announced on the company's website: Ajaccio, Bastia, and Figari, thus connecting Aveyron to Corsica from the second weekend of April. Flights will be offered from €50 one way.

Prospects for tourism development

During the Aveyron des champions event, Gilles Gosselin, Volotea's France manager, mentioned the opening of five additional destinations. While the first three have been confirmed, the other two are still shrouded in mystery. Italy, Portugal, or Greece are hypotheses, but nothing is official yet.

The stated objective is twofold: to facilitate travel for Aveyronnais and to attract new tourists to the department, thus strengthening its economic and cultural attractiveness, argued the head of France for Volotea, who hopes, with this diversification, to make the department a more connected destination, ready to welcome a wider audience.
