Voluntary gymnastics, for those who have resolved to take up sport in 2025

The Codep EPGV 48 departmental committee is well structured in Lozère and offers physical activities for everyone and everywhere.

The Lozère voluntary gymnastics departmental committee, affiliated with the French Federation of Physical Education and Voluntary Gymnastics (FFEPGV), is the first non-competitive sports association in France. It is chaired by Anne-Marie Costes.

Nearly 3,000 members

The lights are green for all activities. 2,794 practitioners are licensed with the EPGV (figure as of the end of August 2024), an increase of 12% compared to the previous year, and 192 hours of lessons are offered each week.

Lessons for everyone, regardless of age and physical condition, are offered by the thirty-two existing clubs in the department. The sessions are led by thirty sports instructors, all qualified, who regularly follow specific and innovative training courses.

And to convince those who still doubt their ability to practice a sporting activity, the Codep EPGV 48 fulfills its mission “to move towards“, by reaching out to all audiences. This is how A3S (Sport Santé Senior) workshops open each year in both cities and rural areas, and adapted physical activity classes are offered to specific audiences (overweight, diabetes, obesity, returning to activity after convalescence, seniors losing their autonomy, balance, cancer, vulnerable populations and migrants, etc.).

The goal is to show that everyone can practice a sporting activity and to prove the interest that everyone gets from it. The goal is achieved since each time workshops are offered in a locality, new members register in the clubs leading to new course openings. For the 2023-2024 season, 150 new members have joined the clubs via these discovery workshops.

The federation also conveys the values ​​of the associative world to all audiences. The Codep EPGV 48 and the clubs thus present themselves as actors of social link. Each year, the Codep organizes a back-to-school course, a treasure hunt and sector sessions. All these moments of discovery, sharing and conviviality contribute to the life of the clubs, to meeting members and to promoting the work of the committee and club leaders, all volunteers.
