Follow the information about the Tour of Spain 2024 with the stage result and the general classification.

The 2024 Vuelta is the 79th edition of the Tour of Spain cycling race and takes place from August 17 to September 8, 2024 between Lisbon in Portugal and Madrid. Primoz Roglic is the big favorite of this edition to save his season. Aleksandr Vlasov, Daniel Felipe Martinez and Florian Lipowitz could take on the leadership role at Red Bull – BORA hansgrohe if, by chance, the Slovenian is not in good enough shape. Joatildeo Almeida, 4th in the last Tour de France, and Adam Yates are also expected. Richard Carapaz (EF Education EasyPost), the recent best climber of the Tour, could aim for the general classification, as could Antonio Tiberi (Bahrain – Victorious), 5th in the Giro last May or even Ben O'Connor.

14:34 – Un full speed ahead

Çit has been going very fast since the start of this 18th stage with an average of almost 50 km/h, and a group of 42 riders has taken a two and a half minute lead over the peloton, with Vlasov, Kruijswijk and Marc Soler present in particular.

13:30 – Attacks on the favourites ?

If there are some nice percentages at expected throughout this 18th stage, there seems to be a lack of long climbs in this 18th stage to allow the favourites to make a difference. But the five-second gap between O'Connor and Roglic for the overall lead could give the Slovenian some ideas.

11:15 – The profile of today's stage

After a day for the sprinters yesterday, the road will climb again this Thursday on the 18th stage of the Vuelta, 179 km long to Maeztu, including the ascent of Puerto Herrera.
