War in the Middle East: "a foretaste of what awaits", Hezbollah threatens Israel with other offensives

After deadly strikes in Haifa, Hezbollah threatens Israel with new offensives “if it decides to continue its aggression against our people”. Emmanuel Macron calls for de-escalation in the region.

  • For its part, the Israeli army continues its raids in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip. In the Palestinian enclave, a school transformed into a shelter was targeted by the IDF in Nuseirat.
  • Emmanuel Macron calls for a de-escalation in the region. The head of state indicated Sunday with his Iranian counterpart Massoud Pezeshkian to support “a general de-escalation”. The President of the Republic recalled “Iran's responsibility (…) to use its influence in this sense with the destabilizing actors who receive its support”.
  • On Sunday, two Israeli tanks were accused of “forcing their way into” one of UNIFIL's positions, injuring peacekeepers. The UN Secretary-General denounced these “attacks” against UN peacekeepers, which could amount to “war crimes”.
