Russian General Assassinated: Moscow Accuses Westerners of Being “Accomplices” of Ukraine

Russian General Igor Kirillov was killed by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) during a special operation in Moscow, a source in the SBU said on Tuesday. Ukraine considered Igor Kirillov a war criminal and a “absolutely legitimate target”, the source added, accusing the Russian officer of ordering the use of chemical weapons against Ukrainian forces

Russia on Tuesday accused the West of being “complicit” in the assassination of a Russian general in Moscow, claimed by Ukraine, because of their lack of criticism of such operations carried out by Kiev.

“Anyone who welcomes these attacks or deliberately ignores them is complicit”, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said, accusing kyiv's allies of “approving war crimes.”

Ukraine says it has arrested Russian “agents” spying on F-16 fighter jets

The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) said on Tuesday it had arrested members of the “largest network of agents” Russians tasked with spying on military airfields that could host the valuable F-16 military jets that Ukraine has received from the Westerners.

“The SBU's military counterintelligence service has neutralized a large network” comprising 12 “Russian agents and their information”, the SBU said in a statement. These people were operating in five regions of the country to “discover” the location “secret military airfields” that can accommodate F-16s, according to the same source.

Zelensky calls on Western allies to “urgently strengthen Ukraine on the battlefield”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday urged his Western allies to “urgently strengthen Ukraine on the battlefield”, as kyiv's forces have been retreating for months in the face of the Russian military.

“The main thing that will unite us”, during Thursday's meeting with the Europeans in Brussels, “is to determine how to urgently strengthen Ukraine on the battlefield, politically and geopolitically”, Zelensky said at a news conference with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

Warsaw “will ensure” that peace talks do not lead to “unfair solutions”

The Polish Prime Minister assured Tuesday in Lviv in Ukraine that his country would “ensure” that possible negotiations on peace in this country at war with Russia do not end in “unfair” solutions.

“We will be very vigilant and will participate in all possible talks. Above all, we will ensure that no negotiations lead to unfair decisions”, said Donald Tusk, after a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“There is no reason for Ukraine to give in” to Moscow, in the event of negotiations, according to Tusk

The Polish Prime Minister said Tuesday in Lviv in Ukraine that this country had “no reason to give in to Moscow” in the event of negotiations on peace in this country attacked by Moscow.

“Ukraine has no reason to give in. Ukraine is the victim of an assault. It is Moscow that must reconsider (its actions)”, Donald Tusk stressed, after a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, while adding that “the only way” to achieve this goal is to “cooperate and support Ukraine fully and in solidarity, before any negotiations.”
