The Directorate General of Public Finances is preparing to make an expected payment to millions of French taxpayers. An automatic aid called “ADVANCE CREDIMPOT” which can reach several thousand euros depending on the case, which comes at just the right time. Indeed, the Banque de France predicts a slowdown in French economic growth in 2025, but slow inflation (below 2%, despite wages that risk falling), according to Public Sénat.
By injecting money directly into the domestic economy, this payment aims to support household purchasing power, which has been particularly weakened by inflation in recent years.
Targeted repayments, without resource conditions
At a time when end-of-year expenses are weighing on wallets and 2025 will mean tougher savings conditions, the tax authorities are preparing their traditional January payment. This operation, affecting nearly 9 million French people, represents an average of 645 euros per beneficiary household. .
The system stands out for its universality: it does not impose any resource ceiling and is aimed at both low-income families and more affluent households. The only condition is to have incurred certain specific expenses during the previous year. Four categories of expenses are eligible for this reimbursement: home services (cleaning, gardening, tutoring), childcare (nursery, childminder), donations to associations and rental investments.
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000A two-stage payment mechanism
The State will support each type of expense differently: childcare and home employment benefit from a reimbursement of up to 50%, donations to associations are valued at 66%, while rental investments rental property is entitled to approximately 20% support. The mechanism works in two stages: an initial payment in January, representing 60% of the total amount, followed by a summer supplement for the remaining 40%.
To illustrate, let's take a simple example. You are a couple and have employed a housekeeper for 4,000 euros over the entire year: out of the 2,000 euros of tax credit, you will therefore receive 1,200 euros in January, then 800 euros later in the summer. If your situation has not changed since your last declaration, no action is necessary: the transfer will be made automatically around January 15, 2025.
You can already check the exact amount that will be allocated to you; a document detailing the personalized amount, calculated based on the individual expenses incurred, is available in your personal space on impots.gouv.fr.
