We often forget it in the car, this object can become very dangerous when it is hot

In case of extreme heat, this object can cause major damage if it remains in the car for a little too long.

Heat is the enemy of mechanics. High temperatures can have serious effects on many components of a car, starting with the engine, brakes, tires, battery and various fluids. It is no coincidence that it is during the summer season that we see the most vehicles broken down on the side of the road. But heat can also sometimes cause other problems that are much more unexpected but just as serious, if not more so.

Some everyday objects can become dangerous if they stay in the sun for too long. But we don't always pay attention to what we leave in our car when we park it. While this is not a problem most of the time, some items should definitely not be exposed to too much heat for several hours. This is particularly the case with sunglasses, which are very useful for protecting our eyes when the weather is nice, but which everyone forgets to wear sometimes. inside his vehicle.

At first glance, nothing serious. Except that glasses left for a while at high temperatures can cause very serious damage. How ? Because of the magnifying glass effect. UV radiation on the lenses can create an overheating point and cause a fire to start, especially if the pair of glasses are placed on the dashboard, which is generally made of plastic. This type of mishap has already happened in France, where the fire started in a car before spreading to the house and the garage. Fortunately there were no casualties. Recently in England, a van was partly set on fire, the glasses reflected the heat on the dashboard which melted and a hole was made in the windshield of the vehicle.

To avoid the risk of finding your car in ashes when returning from the beach, it is strongly recommended to never leave glass objects exposed to sunlight in a vehicle. Especially since without going that far, the heat in the passenger compartment can seriously damage sunglasses and reduce their lifespan. Plastic frames can become deformed and special coatings on lenses, such as anti-reflective or anti-scratch treatments, can deteriorate more quickly. So many reasons to keep your sunglasses on your nose as much as possible.
