“It started with passion”
They remind us right from the start: “It started with passion.” Because “if you don't know your subject, you're incapable of selling anything.“Diligent children of the Club Dorothée generation, Tifani and Mickaël are two lovers of the world of Japanese animation but also of series from the 80s. He who previously ran a shop dedicated to airsoft now works with his wife, manager of the store, in a family environment. “We like it, our children too“, explains Mickaël. In a year and a half, the store has gone from 30 references to more than 3000.
The store, mainly focused on the sale of funko-pop, small figurines from various worlds of pop culture, is dedicated to amateurs and collectors. “We have figurines that can be found everywhere, but we also have vaulted.” Vaulted designating those that are not no longer produced, therefore very rare. The Pinto assure: “We reach everyone. Our average age is 30 – 40 years old.” Those who grew up with Goldorak or Sailor Moon, and those who come after having seen anime or but also recent or old films, like One Piece or X-Files, are welcome. “Sometimes, we get carried away, and we discuss for hours, while the product is already sold and on the counter“, they laugh.
