Weather: a short lull before the rain returns, here are the few days when you will have to enjoy the good weather

This start of the week is very disrupted in part of the country. We will have to wait just a little for a return to calmer weather.

The month of September was particularly gloomy with 50% excess rainfall in the country. At the start of October, the weather is still very unstable. After cool but calm weather last weekend, a depression is crossing France this Tuesday and continues this Wednesday under the influence of cyclone Isaac. “No region escapes rain, showers or wind at one time or another”, explained La Chaine Météo for the beginning of the week.

From the Pays de la Loire, through Auvergne, Alsace to Rhone-Alpes, this disturbance will affect a large part of the country. Between 30 and 50 mm of water are expected locally during the day, or even between 70 and 80 mm in the Vosges or Jura, the equivalent of one to three weeks of rain usually this period. 

Temperatures remain stable between 14 and 23 degrees this Tuesday afternoon. On Wednesday, rain persists in the center-east, especially in the Alps, then will advance southward. A stormy passage could occur in PACA.

We will have to wait for a specific day for the weather to improve. While in the east, the weather will remain unstable and the wind will blow around the Mediterranean, conditions will improve in the west and north from Thursday, with beautiful clear spells. The A&ccedilores high pressure system could provide some relief.

This improvement should continue on Friday with partly cloudy skies over almost the entire country, although temperatures will be a little cooler, slightly below seasonal norms. It is still too early to make any precise forecasts for the weekend: this will depend on the positioning of the A&ccedilores high, but it “could at least guarantee us a nice, slightly cool Saturday before the clouds return to the northwest on Sunday”. So choose Saturday for your outings, the sun should be present almost everywhere!

This calm weather may not last, however. According to the trends Météo-France for next week, the sun would not be there. “The weather should be humid across the country. As for temperatures, no strong signal but a trend for temperatures close to normal,” the site reports. The weather at the beginning of October is therefore expected to be very changeable again.
