Passage of the depression “Darragh”

Maine-et-Loire will be on alert from 3 a.m., due to the passage of the depression “Darragh” over the British Isles. A strong gale is expected during the night from Friday to Saturday and will continue during the day on Saturday.

In Angers, gusts reaching 75 km/h are expected in the late morning until the early afternoon. These gusts will persist on Saturday afternoon and continue on Sunday.

The prefect of Pays de la Loire and Loire-Atlantique is calling for caution, particularly for coastal departments, including Loire-Atlantique.

In Niort and Deux-Sèvres, particular vigilance is also recommended, with strong winds expected from 5 a.m. on Saturday.

A windy weekend

Météo France warns that the departments on the Channel coast are the most exposed to strong gusts, and that a possible increase in vigilance could be put in place. La Chaîne Météo confirms a windy weekend, without however predicting significant overflows for Maine-et-Loire and Deux-Sèvres.
