Weather: Sunshine this weekend! But millions of French people will enjoy it less than others

This Friday, November 1st being a public holiday, the French are enjoying a long weekend and the weather should be good… for some.

As the long All Saints' Day weekend approaches, also marking the end of the school holidays, the forecasts are being closely scrutinized. Rest assured, the forecast is for calm and dry weather, even if the days will not be the same. So you can put away your umbrellas.

On Friday, the clouds will be stubborn north of the Seine, while the sun will shine in the mountains as well as on the Atlantic arc and towards the Mediterranean, according to The Weather Channel. Morning fog could be very present, but gradually lift. Temperatures will still be relatively pleasant with between 4 and 15 degrees in the morning and between 11 and 24 degrees in the afternoon.

On Saturday, clouds will be predominant in the north of the country, but still without rain. A light north wind could however cause a less pleasant feeling. The wind is thus announced to be chilly north of the Loire and especially along the Channel. You should therefore not hesitate to bring out a light sweater, especially in the morning and evening. In the rest of the country, the sun will shine mainly in the afternoon. Low clouds are causing morning temperatures to rise a little, and they should not fall below 6 degrees.

The best day will finally arrive on Sunday. The sky will be clear over a large part of the country and the sun will be present almost everywhere. The mornings will however be quite cool, especially in the north-east, with between 4 and 10 degrees. Conversely, the afternoon will be spring-like, especially in the south with up to 24 degrees, exceeding seasonal norms. For this weekend, La Chaine Météo therefore specifies that  "you won't need to take out the umbrella, but a light layer will sometimes be appreciated".  It's therefore the opportunity to enjoy beautiful autumn walks or family festivities for All Saints' Day.

According to trends from  Météo-France, this calm weather should last a little longer this week next. "The weather remains anticyclonic, therefore calm and generally dry. Temperatures should be close to or slightly above seasonal norms", the site predicts. Good news, knowing that a second long weekend is looming with Monday, November 11.
