Lock problem, clogged sink, leak… It is common to be faced with this type of daily emergency, without being able to reach the right craftsman. Kelkun, a new application from Montpellier, intends to change the situation.
The platform, which has only been up and running for a month, was founded by Grégory Valency. The entrepreneur knows exactly what he's doing, since he's the head of A'Climatis, a company specializing in the installation and maintenance of heating and air conditioning.
Alarm, heating, electricity, carpentry, plumbing, locksmithing, ventilation… Kelkun allows its users to quickly find a professional near them for various types of incidents. You simply have to indicate your needs on the platform, which will then put the customer in touch with available professionals.
« Like Doctolib or Booking, the goal is not to have to search for hours, here we offer you the craftsman closest to you », explains Grégory Valency to France Bleu. The user compares the offers received and chooses the person who best meets their expectations. They can then rate and recommend them. “To register, the craftsman must give us their qualifications and we carry out regular checks with field ambassadors “, continues the manager.
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000Kelkun can be used for emergencies as well as for maintenance or simple work. In this case, the quotes, which are fully digitalized, are sent within 24 to 72 hours, compared to just a few minutes for emergencies. In parallel with the application, the young company offers a telephone help center.

The company, which employs around 70 people, earns its money by taking a 15% commission on emergency interventions and repairs, while a flat rate of between 8 and 15 euros is provided for planning the work. And the concept is popular; it has just raised the tidy sum of 1.1 million euros from private investors.
For the time being, Kelkun is only available in the Gard and Hérault departments, which represents nearly 200 craftsmen. A wider deployment in France is of course planned, as long as enough professionals register on the platform. The latter currently has 1,400 users and 520 artisans to its credit.
Gregory Valency hopes that in the long term, Kelkun will allow many skills to be highlighted, like those of tailors or stonemasons.
