In addition to expanding its service to new countries, Starlink also continues to make it easier to access. For example, with the Starlink Mini kit, SpaceX offers more affordable hardware that also allows for better portability. And at the same time, the company is rolling out a low-cost subscription that allows users to have reduced monthly fees, but with a connection that is deprioritized. According to PC Mag's explanations, this subscription is now called Residential Lite. This was launched by Starlink in New Zealand in February. Then, the Lite subscription also arrived in Spain.
And currently, according to PC Mag, Starlink’s Lite plan is already available in about 30 countries, including countries in South America, Africa, and the Pacific. Unfortunately, Starlink’s French website only lists the standard residential plan at €40, but no Lite subscription. But in any case, in Spain, where the residential plan also costs €40, Starlink offers its Lite subscription at €29. However, prices vary from country to country. Otherwise, PC Mag suggests that there is reason to hope that Starlink will launch this affordable plan in other countries, later on. Indeed, Starlink has published the characteristics of this Lite subscription in countries where it is not (yet) available.
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000In any case, the details on this Lite residential subscription are already available on the Starlink website. “Starlink’s “Residential Lite” service is a more affordable plan designed for personal, family, or household use at a fixed terrestrial location at a valid location in select markets. Users will have unlimited deprioritized data each month, with no contracts or long-term commitments (similar to Starlink’s “Residential” plan),”, Starlink’s website reads.
The main difference is in speeds, as Lite subscribers will be deprioritized during peak hours, compared to users on the standard residential plan. Starlink also says that on the Lite plan, speeds will range from 50 to 100 Mbps, compared to 150 to 250 Mbps for residential plan users. On the other hand, some features, such as service suspension, are not available.
