Donald Trump was in Michigan on Saturday July 20 for his first meeting since his assassination attempt. He promised a "monumental tidal wave" for the Republicans.

With a small bandage on his ear, Donald Trump was in Grand Rapids (Michigan) on Saturday, July 20, for his first campaign rally since his assassination attempt. The event took place in front of 12,000 people, in a closed room, easier to secure than the parking lot where he was attacked. While the billionaire was officially sworn in at the Republican convention in Milwaukee on July 18, he promised his supporters a “monumental tidal wave” for the Republicans.

It must be said that the candidate for the White House was strengthened by the images that followed the assassination attempt he suffered. Photos of him with blood on his face and his fist raised have marked the spirits, while the state of health of his opponent, Joe Biden, worried even in his camp.

Tackles to his opponents

The current president of the United States has been in isolation since he tested positive for covid-19 and has been absent from public speaking and stuttering. This state of health has earned him the label of “stupid” and “weak old man” by Donald Trump, despite the two men being only four years apart in age. He also attacked Vice President Kamala Harris, calling her a “nutcase.”

Donald Trump also used his gunshot wound to his ear to continue to shape his strongman persona against Joe Biden. “They say I'm a threat to democracy, but what haven't I done for democracy ? Last week, I took a bullet for democracy," says Donald Trump, slightly injured in the ear.
