Where to buy "Alarmo", Nintendo's new product that detects your movements when you wake up ?

As thousands of Nintendo fans wait for news of the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, the Japanese firm unveils a brand new interactive radio alarm clock: Alarm.

You were waiting for news of the Nintendo Switch 2 ? You'll have to wait a few more days to get that. Or rather a few nights since Nintendo has just unveiled a brand new product already available for advance purchase: an interactive alarm clock.

Baptized "Alarmo", this alarm clock is not a simple alarm clock intended to notify you of a time of sleep and to get up with a little ringtone. "Alarmo" features several tones from multiple Nintendo games including:

  • Super Mario Odyssey
  • Pikmin 4
  • Splatoon 3
  • Ring Fit Adventure
  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

“Alarmo” users can choose their favorite game from this list, and each title includes several small alarms taken from the game in question. Nintendo has already confirmed that more games will be added later if you connect “Alarmo” to an Internet network. Two upcoming games have already been announced with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

“Alarmo” works like an alarm clock with motion detection features. Placed in front of your bed, “Alarmo” will play the ringtone of your choice at the time you set for your alarm. The difference with a classic alarm clock is that “Alarmo” is able to detect your movements when you wake up and emit small sounds from Nintendo games like the sound of Mario pieces when your body reacts to the alarm clock.

When the user finally wakes up and leaves his bed, a small victory bell rings through “Alarmo”. Conversely, if the user lingers too long under his covers, the bell will become more and more insistent with a small interaction from a disgruntled Bowser to encourage the user to get up.

When you want to go to bed, “Alarmo” can also deliver some ambient sounds to help you fall asleep. Finally, Nintendo's alarm clock offers to keep track of your sleep patterns to ensure you're following good habits.

Where buy Alarmo, Nintendo's alarm clock ?

“Alarmo” has just been announced by Nintendo and is only available as an advance purchase for $99. Only Nintendo Switch Online members in the US and Canada can purchase the alarm clock on the official Nintendo Store website.

Visitors to the Nintendo New York Store can also find “Alarmo” on shelves starting Wednesday, October 9. Quantities are limited, however.

As for the European market, you'll have to wait a little longer. These advance purchases are valid until January. Including the various European taxes, Alarmo should cost around 110 or 120 euros here when it's released.
