In addition, it should be noted that, even if very old models like the iPhone XS still receive the iOS 19 update, they will probably not be compatible with all of Apple's new features, due to hardware limitations. In general, Apple tries to offer new versions of its OS to as many users as possible, but reserves certain features for the most recent models.

For example, the iOS 18.1 update brought Apple Intelligence to the iPhone. However, this new feature is only available on the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
