Now aged 73 years old, it is in the columns of the Daily Mail that he agreed to make some confidences. Between 1988 and 1995, he was at the service of Whitney Houston, ensuring that everything went smoothly. He notably revealed that he had already thought about giving up everything.
David Roberts was very attached to the singer and he had already imagined the possibility of sharing his life with her. “If you cross that line, you lose your objectivity and it becomes dangerous for the person you're protecting,” he first said. He then made reference to the movie The Bodyguard indicating that Frank Farmer crossed that line with Rachel Marron. “He's done in his job,” said David Roberts.

When he agreed to protect the singer, David Roberts didn't know what he was getting into. For him, the singer's death could have been avoided. “If she had been well surrounded, there would have been so much to do to help her”, he regretted. It was in 1995 that David Roberts said goodbye to Whitney Houston, after he had expressed doubts about his drug use.
