Welcome to the Jungle, a startup specializing in recruitment and job search, is undergoing a slight restructuring at the beginning of this year. Objective: to return to profitability while its revenues are stagnating in France.

Not yet profitable

The company stands out from traditional job platforms thanks to an attractive service that connects recruiters and candidates. All of its offers are complemented by an online media, with editorial content focused on professional issues and the world of work. Founded in 2015, Welcome to the Jungle is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. Unfortunately, it is not getting off to the best possible start.

Because its revenues stagnated in 2024, confides Antoine-Benjamin Lequertier, co-CEO of the startup, in an interview with Échos. ” The market was less dynamic than in 2021 and 2022. We experienced a big dip in late 2023 and 2024. And the political context did not help “, he argues. The start-up's losses reached 9.5 million euros in 2023, an improvement compared to the 12.1 million recorded the previous year.

However, it failed to achieve profitability by the end of 2024 as initially planned. The deadline has now been postponed to the second half of 2025. It is in this context that Welcome to the Jungle is implementing a voluntary redundancy plan affecting 35 positions in France, or 10% of the workforce. It is also closing its office in the Czech Republic, where its expansion efforts failed, directly affecting 10 jobs. The startup has 350 employees worldwide.

Strategic Adjustments

The idea is now to focus on other, more promising markets, such as the United Kingdom and the United States. A mission made easier by the acquisition of Otta last year, the British recruitment firm already having a small presence in the Land of Uncle Sam.

Last October, Welcome to the Jungle also acquired Lymia. The latter uses artificial intelligence (AI) to design an application aimed at helping recruiters identify the most relevant candidates in a matter of moments. The startup will most certainly turn to AI, too, like several companies specializing in human resources in recent months.

Automating the customer journey is on its radar, as is reducing the production of videos and articles. Although this practice has allowed him to make his brand known, it is clear that it is not really profitable. 2025 is therefore full of challenges for Welcome to the Jungle, which is slowly preparing to take them on.

  • Welcome to the Jungle, a startup specializing in recruitment and job search, is reducing its workforce.
  • It is aiming for profitability in the second half of 2025.
  • The company is targeting the United Kingdom and the United States for expansion, and will also use AI to automate the customer journey.
