In a few days, Apple will market its mixed reality headset, a certain Vision Pro. For $3,499, buyers will be able to benefit from a new generation headset, described by its fathers as a “space computer“, and which promises to usher in a new era of computing. Applications will extend beyond the boundaries of a traditional screen, with a fully three-dimensional user interface, controlled by the most natural and intuitive means of interaction possible: the eyes, the hands and voice.

Netflix doesn't want Apple's Vision Pro

The Vision Pro headset will be based on its own operating system (visionOS), designed from the outset to meet the low latency requirements of spatial computing, with a 3-dimensional interface. In addition to in-house applications, the Vision Pro will also be able to count on the support of various industry giants, notably those dedicated to streaming. However, no Netflix on the menu…

Indeed, unlike Disney+ which will be available on Apple's headset, and which will even offer users ultra-immersive environments (4 in total), Netflix decided to ignore the Vision Pro of the American giant. “Our subscribers will be able to enjoy Netflix via a web browser on the Vision Pro, as is already the case on Mac“, a simply explained Netflix.

Among the other applications available straight away on Apple's Vision Pro headset, we find Amazon Prime Video, Paramount+, MAX, Crunchyroll, Peacock, Pluto TV, without forgetting ESPN or TikTok, as well as ;#8217;Apple TV home app. The Apple company will also offer four documentaries filmed specifically for the Vision Pro.

On the Netflix side, we seem to have a very (very) relative interest in VR as a whole, the application dedicated to Meta headsets being abandoned . There is also no question of porting the iPad application to the Vision Pro AppStore. To enjoy Netflix through the Apple headset, head to the Safari web browser.

Remember that the first tests of the Apple Vision Pro are already starting to appear in the American press. And if the experience is overall very immersive, it can also sometimes prove unpleasant, with the added bonus of certain failures (on the keyboard side in particular), but above all a comfort that would not really be there.

It now remains to be seen how successful Apple's Vision Pro headset will be, which will undoubtedly ultimately determine the arrival (or not) of Apple's Vision Pro headset. a Netflix application dedicated to this space computer.
