After the launch of several other formulas in France, it is the turn of the new Starlink Mini formulas to make their arrival in France. Starlink Mini is first of all a new transportable, lightweight kit, ultra-compact and energy-efficient. But also two new subscription packages. One of which allows it to be moved by land to benefit from high speed everywhere, even in dead zones or at the top of mountains.

With Starlink Mini, Elon Musk's firm is continuing the international launch of its satellite internet access solutions. While opening up the possibility of traveling with your kit to more people – under certain conditions. It is not possible to use the kit, for example, on board a car while traveling. But you will still be able to use the internet when you arrive.

Starlink Mini is finally available in France

The Starlink Mini antenna is one of the most advanced of the firm. Totally flat, it works on the principle of “phase array” in other words a technology that consists of using interferometry to “orient” virtually the antenna. Its consumption is ultra-low so that it is possible to power it for a few hours on a simple external battery. This kit is the slowest currently offered by the firm.

But the speed still goes up to 100 Mb/s (up to 10 Mb/s in sending) all with a latency of 23 ms. Which is in any case much better than an ADSL connection (which has never had the chance to exist in places like the summit of the Pic du Gard!). All with two entirely new subscription formulas.

200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000

The ’Mobile – Regional” offer at €59 per month includes unlimited data while traveling across the continent. The ’Mini Roaming” subscription at €40 per month includes 50 GB of data away from home with your kit. The kit's operating area includes the entire European continent (but not maritime areas for example, which require a separate subscription).

It is still possible to use the kit at very low speed, while moving – the firm specifies that the limit is 16 km/h which risks greatly limiting the usefulness of this feature. As we told you a little higher up: there is no point in trying to use it in a moving motorized transport. To do this, you have to opt for another (more expensive) subscription.

  • The Starlink Mini subscription arrives in France with its new generation ultra-light antenna.
  • Like the new non-motorized base antenna, this one is the latest iteration of the phase array technology allowing in a way its virtual orientation towards the satellites of the Starlink constellation.
  • Usable on the move, it comes with two new subscription offers starting at €40 per month.
  • The kit itself is a little more expensive than the old base kit, starting at €349 or purchase and €10 per month to rent.
