Normally, we can only encourage you to update the software and applications on your devices. These often correct bugs and flaws and keep your machines secure. But this is not the case for this optional Windows 11 patch called KB5043145.
As indicated by our colleagues at 01Net, users report that while this latter is not supposed to install itself, this is nevertheless what happened on their computer with very damaging effects.
Subsequently, some of them were not even able to start their machine or ended up with a blue screen of death. By browsing the Microsoft forums, we quickly realize that something is wrong. Between computers stuck in a bootloop and those having to deal with blue or green screens, the problems are legion.
Other problems have been reported following the installation of this patch, including the disabling of USB ports or the fact that keyboards and mice no longer respond. Finally, the Wi-Fi connection of some devices is compromised.
It seems that certain gaming models are particularly affected by the update, including the ASUS TUF A15 and the ROG Strix G17 (2024). The Redmond firm says it is aware of the bugs and specifies that an investigation is underway.
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000We can imagine that Microsoft will release a patch fairly quickly to address these various issues. In the meantime, you can uninstall the patch from your PC by going to Settings > Windows Update > Update History > Uninstall Updates. You can then select KB5043145 to get rid of it.
In case of greater difficulty, you should restart your computer in recovery mode. To do this, turn it on and hold down the Power button to prevent Windows from loading. By repeating this procedure a second time, the third attempt will allow you to start in recovery mode.
You will then be able to enter the advanced options of the troubleshooting mode and uninstall this update. A restart of the PC is then necessary to complete the operation.
As a reminder, Microsoft has decided to end support for Windows 10 as of October 2025. The operating system will therefore continue to work on your machine, but no more security updates will be available. In the long term, this could become problematic and the Redmond firm is therefore taking care to encourage its users to switch to Windows 11.
