If you have an iPhone, it is best to use it with a Mac, since Apple offers plenty of practical features that allow the products in its ecosystem to communicate with each other. However, if your smartphone is an iPhone and your PC is running Windows 11, know that Microsoft is still trying to offer certain features that allow you to access certain information from the iPhone on a PC. And the good news is that the company is preparing a new Windows 11 feature that will make life even easier for iPhone users.

Microsoft is working on integrating the Windows 11 user's smartphone directly into the Start menu. Initially, this feature was reserved for Android smartphones. But now, it is also available for iPhone users.

iPhone integration into the Start menu

“This seamless integration allows users to 8217;iPhone to benefit from the same advantages as users Android, including the ability to view the phone's battery status and connectivity, access messages and calls, and track recent activity, all conveniently integrated in the Start menu”, says Microsoft.

And that's not all, since Microsoft is also testing a feature that will allow files to be sent between PCs and smartphones, directly from the Start menu. For now, these new features are not available on the stable version of Windows, but are being tested on Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 4805. However, they should be available to everyone later, after testing on Windows 11 previews.

In any case, this new feature should make Windows 11 a little more convenient for iPhone users, as Apple has launched a feature that allows access to the iPhone screen from a connected Mac, in 2024.

  • Microsoft is developing smartphone integration with the Start menu
  • The feature was first tested for Android, but Microsoft has just announced testing with the iPhone
  • By opening the Start menu, the user will be able to enjoy an integration with the iPhone that allows you to know the battery percentage, or to see calls and messages
  • These new features are currently being tested in preview, and should be deployed to everyone, on Windows 11, later
