The communication services had produced a festive video of about fifteen minutes. A film to go back in time and measure in images on the big screen, the path traveled and the great moments of local life in Frontignan over the last twelve months. This Saturday, January 11, 2025, the mayor of Frontignan, Michel Arrouy presented his wishes to the population in a Henri-Ferrari sports hall draped in solemnity. The gymnasium was full. Musical entertainment and a warm atmosphere mixing applause and ovation enhanced this republican end of the morning.

The mayor of Frontignan was surrounded by the municipal council and also elected officials and representatives from neighboring communities or representing the Occitanie region, the general council of Hérault and Sète Agglopôle Méditerranée which was represented by its president and mayor of Sète François Commeinhes.

Departmental councillor for the canton of Frontignan, Sylvie Pradelle was present, as was the deputy for the 8th constituency, Sylvain Carrière. The mayor of Frontignan also paid tribute to his predecessor, Pierre Bouldoire, who attended the ceremony to present his wishes.

Budgetary prudence

“We need more public services”, declared Michel Arrouy, who paid tribute to the president of the Hérault departmental council, Kléber Mesquida. The president of the Occitanie region Carole Delga was also entitled to the mayor's expression of gratitude. The two political figures are praised “for their implacable loyalty” in supporting the transformation projects of the Muscat city.

Michel Arrouy also welcomed the support of the president of the Agglo, but also the contribution of the departmental councilors and all the elected officials “for their investment which allows the transformations of the city of Frontignan”. There is also the State and the European Union “essential partner of the city” specifies the elected representative of Frontignan.

Rigorous financial management

The elected official is not a little proud of his city. “Frontignan is equipping itself with audacity and ambition while remaining faithful to rigorous financial management he declares. In the context of current budgetary uncertainty that we are all experiencing, we will continue to invest while remaining cautious. This is why, like many communities, we have postponed certain projects. But be careful, postponing does not mean giving up”, warns the mayor of Frontignan. This is the case of the project to build a new swimming pool supported by the Agglo and therefore the realization is, it seems, postponed by one year.

The Lafarge wasteland

“Together, we are moving forward on major projects”, hammered home Michel Arrouy. This is the case of the future gymnasium of the Simone de Beauvoir college, supported by the Department.

Both will see the light of day in the Hierles district. There is also the Lafarge industrial wasteland development project, currently under study, with the aim of renaturing the site and reconnecting La Peyrade to the Thau lagoon.

Good to know

This evening is organized by the City of Frontignan, the Agglo de Sète Agglopôle Méditerranée, the National Forestry Office and the Departmental Fire and Rescue Union.

Outlook. In terms of outlook, the "harmonious and sustainable" development of the city of Frontignan is desired by its mayor also involves the reconversion of the Exxon Mobil site, the installation of a new railway station and the creation of a multimodal interchange hub and a 150-space car park.

100% Frontignan Buffet

The mayor of Frontignan quite logically ended his speech with a prediction: 2025 will be an important year, the one that will crown the various projects and actions of our mandate. The session of wishes ended with the Marseillaise, just before a toast was made around a 100% Frontignan buffet.
