Since Tuesday, December 17 and until Christmas Eve, the Teranga association has been exhibiting and offering for sale the work of eight ceramists. And from the first day of opening, this Tuesday, the people of Millau rushed to find the perfect piece to put under the tree, or to store at home.

“I've been exhibiting here for three years,” Muriel Thomas unfolds. People are waiting for this event, they're regulars. It's finally become a ritual.” A professional ceramicist, she travels from Pomayrols to exhibit on the one hand, and to hold a permanent office on the other hand to allow the people of Millau to find an open house. Seven of the eight exhibitors then take turns to ensure the smooth running of the exhibition/sale.

For all tastes

On site, each has a well-defined space intended for them to exhibit and express their art. All are from Aveyron or Hérault. And although they all use the throwing technique, each has their own style. Like Eliane Régimbeau whose specialty is crystallization on porcelain. For her, the diversity of the proposals on site is a godsend. “It's really good, when people come they find everything.”

Sleek style, engravings, stoneware ceramics, illustrated earthenware… Something to satisfy everyone's tastes and colors and support local crafts. “With the current economic climate, it's not easy”, admits Muriel Thomas who has often heard that investing in a piece of pottery was not a priority. But to overcome the argument of the wallet, the choice of exhibitors turned to small works, “at affordable prices”, pleads the Pomayrolaise. At the end of the eight days of opening of the Constantini room, the proceeds from the sales will go to each of the artisans. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the Teranga association, organizer of the annual event.
