According to the information provided by the authorities, the victims are a woman, aged 34, and a little girl, aged 11. They were both taken to hospital. Their lives are not in danger. Fortunately, the injuries were not that “light”."At the same time, the assailant was arrested by the police and taken into custody.

If the attack fortunately did not result in any deaths, it is largely thanks to an employee of a tea room who intervened after hearing screams in the square. “I went outside and saw that a guy had a knife. The moment I saw him, I jumped on this guy, grabbed his hand… put him on the ground and kicked the knife away,” said Abdullah, 29, at BBC. In addition, police have said there is no indication that this was a terrorist attack, at least “at this stage”.

Leicester Square is one of London's iconic squares. The location is particularly popular movie tourists since four large cinemas are installed there and it is in one of them that the previews of the major films are regularly screened. It is also the scene of a strong agitation in the evening since many nightclubs are also present in the sector.
