Woman scammed by fake Brad Pitt then harassed: the controversy reaches the actor's ears

A spokesperson for Brad Pitt has responded to the fraud case that Anne, 53, suffered. The latter was swindled out of no less than $830,000 by a crook who pretended to be the famous American actor and who made her believe they were in a romantic relationship.

After the scale of this story, the clan of the famous actor Brad Pitt finally reacted. As a reminder, Anne, aged 53 and an interior designer by profession, was scammed by a fake Brad Pitt. Following the waves of cyberbullying that the woman suffered, TF1 decided to remove its report from all its platforms.

“It's awful that scammers take advantage of the strong bond between fans and celebrities”, declared the actor's spokesperson, according to Le Parisien. He also added that this case “is an important reminder not to respond to unsolicited online messages, especially from people who are not present on social media.”

According to Marwan, the founder of a company that helps victims of online scams, the scammer is from Nigeria.

The latter, who was asked by TF1 to give his expert opinion, says he managed to identify the web pirate thanks to the banking information and the tracking of the money that Anne sent. He then forwarded him a link which the man in Nigeria clicked on, allowing him to access his phone.
