The competition is fierce between video game giants PlayStation and Xbox, but Xbox's CEO Game Studios has just announced a turning point: a portable console is in the works.
The information has just been released, thanks to an interview conducted by Bloomberg with Phil Spencer, the current head of Xbox Game Studios. The Microsoft company is reportedly thinking about a completely revolutionary new console, which would drastically change the trajectory taken since its creation in 1994.
Indeed, Xbox is reportedly working on portable console prototypes. A change of sight that is not a real surprise, Phil Spencer having professed to several times his interest in portable consoles.
A date still very uncertain
Although the race is on, the finish line remains uncertain. As the project is still at a very early stage, no release date has been mentioned. It is very likely that several years will have passed before players can get their hands on the new Xbox gadget.
This waiting time, as long as it is uncertain, will undoubtedly give rise to many rumors and hypotheses. In any case, we should certainly not expect real announcements before 2027. The Xbox team has not yet started working and is taking the time to think, in order to best think about its new model.

Microsoft's company is currently focusing mainly on a study of the current market, in order to best respond to trends and customer demands. “Longer term, I would really like to see us build other devices ,” Phil Spencer told Bloomberg. “And I think our team could do some really innovative work, but first we want to educate ourselves by studying what's happening current time."

And home consoles ?
Although Phil Spencer has spoken out about a change in direction within Xbox, the development of portable consoles does not signal the end of home consoles. Quite the contrary, according to Xbox President Sarah Bond, who revealed earlier this year that the company was already working on on a new generation of console.
Still according to Sarah Bond, the next Xbox living room models would even mark a technological leap never seen between two generations, with an unprecedented graphic and technical leap. Promises that do not fall on deaf ears, gamers being more and more on the lookout for all the information concerning the future of the Microsoft company.
