XGIMI Ascend: What if this 100-inch screen replaced your TV ?

The XGIMI video projector brand is taking advantage of CES in Las Vegas to present its Ascend concept. XGIMI has imagined a 100-inch XXL screen that pairs with its AURA 2 projector to offer a unique entertainment experience in the living room. The Ascend is a motorized screen that can retract when not in use or display only a third of its surface.

In addition to this motorization function, the screen uses a technology called ALR that rejects ambient light, to offer an optimal visual experience. And, on top of that, the Ascend screen includes high-end Harman Kardon sound bars that, with the projector's speakers, provide an immersive sound experience.

“Ascend represents our commitment to continuous innovation in home entertainment and our desire to deliver powerful, stylish products that enrich our customers’ lives. This is the kind of product that impresses at CES, and we look forward to hearing from the experts at the event,” said Apollo Zhong, CEO of XGIMI.

Still a concept

Unfortunately, the Ascend is still a concept and it is unclear whether XGIMI will ever commercialize it. However, the Aura 2 projector for which the concept was designed is a commercial product. This is a high-end ultra-short throw projector, which displays a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels and a brightness of 2300 lumens. It is also capable of displaying an image size of 90 inches to 150 inches. In France, XGIMI sells the Aura 2 at 2,899 euros.

In 2024, we had the opportunity to test this product, and we were impressed by its design, image quality, audio, as well as the fluidity of the Android TV system integrated into the projector.

  • XGIMI presents its Ascend concept at CES in Las Vegas
  • This is a 100-inch motorized screen for its Aura 2 projector
  • This uses ambient light rejection technology, and includes Harman Kardon sound bars
  • But unlike the Aura 2 projector, Ascend is still just a concept
