This Monday, October 28, Netflix launched Moments on its iOS app. The feature, which will come a little later to Android, is extremely promising. It allows you to share a sequence from a Netflix film or series directly on social networks. Here's how it works.
Netflix, king of marketing
Concretely, you can now choose a sequence that struck you in a content and publish it using the share button on WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, or Snapchat. It is also possible to save a piece in the “My Netflix” tab to come back to it later. Let's also note that a ranking of the most sequenced series will be updated regularly.
Not doing things by halves, the entertainment giant has mobilized stars Giancarlo Esposito, Simone Biles and Cardi B who humorously return to scenes present in their programs on Netflix.
Quoted by Variety, Netflix’s chief marketing officer, Marian Lee, points out:
You know that feeling when a scene, character, or line from a show or movie sticks in your mind and you can’t help but message your friends: “You have to watch this, it’s so good!”?
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000
She adds: “Whether it’s sparking Halloween costume ideas or becoming a TikTok sensation, the incredible fandoms we see are a testament to what makes Netflix amazing. Our new campaign aims to celebrate these unforgettable moments, taking you back to the feeling you had when you first became obsessed with a great series on Netflix. »
Netflix's strategy
Of course, this initiative is probably not without ulterior motives on Netflix's part. As BFM points out, the sequences in question will not be directly visible on social networks.
Each extract will in fact be accompanied by a link specifying ” view in its original context “ which will redirect to the platform. Enough to encourage Internet users who would like to watch the episode or the film in its entirety to subscribe. This could also prove counterproductive and infuriate some users. What do you think of this new tool?? Let us know in the comments.
What to remember:
- Since Monday, October 28, Netflix offers the Moments feature on iOS
- The idea is to allow you to share sequences that have marked you on social networks
- For the entertainment giant, it is above all a way to occupy the field and encourage Internet users to subscribe
