Five, Castings, Family Business … Whether writing, directing or both, Igor Gotesman makes us die of laughter. Good news: he's back soon with Fiasco.
Last year, Netflix had already announced to us that it was preparing a new series for 2024. If the platform gave us some information to make our mouths water, we were missing the most important: a release date. This is now the case! Yay! The series doesn't yet have an official trailer, but it won't be long. Synopsis, release date, actors, creators… Here is everything we already know about Fiasco, the new Netflix series.
Fiasco is a series composed of 7 35-minute episodes. It is more precisely a mockumentary, that is to say a mockumentary, like Planète Cunk or What we do in the shadows.
So, Fiascotakes us to the set of Raphaël Valande's first feature film. The young man promises an adventure spanning the ages, from prehistory to the landings, including the Vikings… All this with the aim of paying tribute to the heroic life of his resistant grandmother. But there is a catch: problems accumulate, filming falls behind schedule and the project becomes real hell. Someone on the crew is definitely trying to sabotage the film.
Knowing the team behind Fiasco, we can expect to have a few laughs watching the series. The genre of mockumentary blurs the barrier between fiction and reality, and often offers extremely funny and offbeat moments.
Fiascois created and directed by Igor Gotesman, who wrote and directed Five and Family Business. He also worked on the scripts for Castings and My Unknown. To lend him a hand, he can count on Pierre Niney, who co-created the series and participated in its writing. Nicolas Slomka and Tania Gotesman also worked on the writing of Fiasco.
Unsurprisingly, Fiasco brings together Pierre Niney and François Civil, who shared the poster for Five by Igor Gotesman in 2016. In the cast of Fiasco, we also find Géraldine Nakache, Pascal Demolon, Djimo, Louise Coldefy (who was already in Family Business), Juliette Gasquet, Vincent Cassel and Leslie Medina. Wearing several hats, Igor Gotesman will be behind but also in front of the cameras of Fiasco.
Fiasco will be available on Netflix on April 30, 2024. The series will nevertheless be presented out of competition at the CANNESERIES festival, which will take place from April 5 to 10, 2024. We imagine that by then, we will be entitled to a first trailer.
