Une remise symbolique de chèque chez Flash Enseigne, pour remercier les partenaires et son club du BMC et terminer l’opération. A.M.
À 15 ans, le cycliste a créé et mené à bout un projet personnel qui a permis de recueillir 600 € pour l’AFM Téléthon en fin d’année dernière.
A few days before Christmas, Charles Marty brought together his partners at the premises of the Flash Enseignes company in Clermont-l’Hérault, in the presence of the sports manager and secretary of his Béziers Méditerranée Cyclisme club, Alizée Collas and Oliver Bedène. The opportunity for the young 15-year-old cyclist, in Seconde at the René-Gosse high school, to thank them and finalize his sports project which allowed him to raise €600 for the AFM Téléthon.
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000“It's a project around cyclocross that was close to my heart that I created at the end of 2023” says Charles. While he was playing handball since he was little at HBC Clermont Salagou, the sportsman living in Aspiran wanted to take up road cycling two years ago by taking out a license with the BMC club. “I had been doing it since I was little as a hobby, I also do trail running with my parents. I like it when it's difficult.” And with cycling, he's served. “Last winter, I decided to test myself on a cyclocross, in Vauvert where it didn't go well. To motivate me to continue, I had the idea of this challenge that combines sport and solidarity.”
The young boy then approached two companies he knew, La Capitelle in Bosc and Do et Ka in Clermont-l'Hérault. “The idea was to select a race and, via my account on the Strava app, ask people to support me during the race by clicking on a link to allow me to accumulate kudos (a boost that anyone can give to an athlete to congratulate them on a performance).” What he did on the Bosc cyclocross organized by the Comité Départemental de l'Hérault and the Vélo Club Lodévois. “I was able to collect €120, which my partners donated directly to the AFM with their company card.”
In 2024, Charles changed gear, by approaching more partners. Nine followed him in his adventure. “I decided to run six events this winter, and I set my challenge on the one organized by the Montagnac club at the Gignac Agricultural High School, this time with an adapted bike that offers more agility and ease for this type of discipline.” This time, with much more online encouragement and €600 donated by his partners to the Téléthon.
Enough to consider climbing projects next winter, once the road season is over for the one who will move up to Cadet 2nd year (U17). “I don't set myself a sporting goal in cyclocross, apart from giving my all in each race. It mainly serves as preparation for my road season where, on the other hand, I would aim for good rankings, podiums and victories.” explains Charles Marty who likes ambitious challenges.
