2024 taxes: if you drive electric, don't miss this line in your declaration!

The 2024 tax return is here, accompanied by a few changes. This is one that should satisfy taxpayers who own an electric vehicle and a home charging station. By following these few tips, it is possible to benefit from a tax reduction of 300 euros. A significant amount.

Practical arrangements for benefiting from the reduction

Faced with the growing popularity of electric cars, the government has implemented this measure so to encourage the adoption of this “more ecological” mode of transport. Ideally, we would like these to be less expensive to purchase (since their production price drops), but that's another debate.

If you want to benefit from this reduction, you will still have to respect certain conditions. The first is to have a charging station at home. Then, the installation of this must have been carried out between January 1 and December 31, 2023 and the invoice must precisely mention the total amount of installation.

The reduction is limited to one limit per person and per household, but within the framework of a joint declaration, two limits can be taken into account, bringing the reduction to 600 euros.

How to go about declaring correctly?< /h2>

Nothing too complicated in reality, you'll just have to be a little attentive. First, connect to the official government website, impots.gouv.fr. Once you have started your declaration, you will find yourself on the page “ Select below the sections you wish to appear”. You will see a box called “ Reductions and tax credits : donations, childcare costs, work from home, contributions union benefits, compensatory benefits, etc. Check there.

Then click on “Next” several times in a row until you come across the page “ Vos charges ”. It is here that you will enter the amount of the invoice corresponding to the installation of your terminal . If it is located in your main residence, enter the amount in box 7ZQ. If it is in your second home, choose box 7ZS.

Logically, the reduction is automatically applied, but still check if this is indeed the case. To do this, wait until you reach the end of your declaration and come across the page “ Summary of your declaration ” and scroll down to “ Tax Reductions” and click on “ Consult the calculation details ”. We never know. A frankly welcome measure, which will lighten the bill a little.

  • A new feature awaits EV owners for their d&amp declaration ;#8217;taxes.
  • The government has planned a tax reduction for people with a charging station at home.
  • This reduction can go up to 600 euros in the event of a joint declaration, for two charging stations installed.
