An octogenarian residing in a house that offered family daycare services faces several charges of sexual assault, according to police in the region 'Oshawa, Ontario.

Frank Negenman, 82, is charged with indecent actions, assault, sexual assault and sexual contact with a child under 16, among other counts. He was released on a promise to appear.

Durham Regional Police began their investigation in September, following reports regarding an alleged sexual assault that occurred in the mid-1980s at a residence near the intersection of Waverly Street South and Cartier Avenue.

Investigators were able to identify more than one alleged victim. The reported sexual assaults allegedly occurred between 1967 and 1991.

Police say the daycare would have closed its operations earlier in 2023.

Any witnesses or possible victims are asked to contact the police.
