A collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle in the Sainte-Rose district of Laval has claimed one life to a 30-year-old man on Friday.

The accident occurred around 2 p.m. at the intersection of Avenue of the Renaissance and Sainte-Rose Boulevard.

The vehicle was traveling westbound on avenue de la Renaissance, while the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on boulevard Sainte-Rose, reports the Service de Laval police (SPL).

At the intersection, there is a traffic light. The vehicle wanted to turn to enter and take Highway 15 North. That's when the motorcycle hit the vehicle, said an SPL spokesperson, agent Stéphanie Beshara.

The motorcyclist was then ejected from his machine. The seriously injured man was transported to the hospital center where he was pronounced dead, added Agent Beshara.

A perimeter security was put in place and police continued their investigation Friday evening to better understand the circumstances surrounding the collision.
