A collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle in the Sainte-Rose district of Laval has claimed one life to a 30-year-old man on Friday.

The accident occurred around 2 p.m. at the intersection of Avenue of the Renaissance and Sainte-Rose Boulevard.

The vehicle was traveling westbound on avenue de la Renaissance, while the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on boulevard Sainte-Rose, reports the Service de Laval police (SPL).

At the intersection, there is a traffic light. The vehicle wanted to turn to enter and take Highway 15 North. That's when the motorcycle hit the vehicle, said an SPL spokesperson, agent St├ęphanie Beshara.

The motorcyclist was then ejected from his machine. The seriously injured man was transported to the hospital center where he was pronounced dead, added Agent Beshara.

A perimeter security was put in place and police continued their investigation Friday evening to better understand the circumstances surrounding the collision.
