A motorist hits 4 people: the gesture could be intentional, police believe

Toronto police believe a motorist who hit four people, Wednesday in a parking lot in the northeast of the city may have acted deliberately.

The driver of the vehicle has been arrested and the homicide squad is investigating. The man remained at the scene.

In a brief press briefing, a spokesperson said, without giving further information, that police had indications that the Victims could have been caught voluntarily.

Three people were rushed to hospital, where one died of his injuries. A fourth was lightly injured.

Police expect all three injured to survive.

The collision occurred around 12:40 p.m. in a parking lot on Cassandra Boulevard, near Victoria Park Avenue and Parkwoods Village Drive. Police are appealing for witnesses.
