A septuagenarian on a four-wheeler was fatally struck by a vehicle on Route 116 in Durham-Sud, confirms the spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec, Camille Savoie.

Police officers were called to the scene of the accident on Saturday around 3:30 p.m.

On the squares, the police carried out resuscitation measures on the seriously injured man. The septuagenarian was later pronounced dead in hospital.

After the collision, the vehicle would have rolled several times, underlines Camille Savoir. The driver, aged around twenty, was taken to hospital for nervous shock. The authorities do not fear for his life.

A section of Route 116 is closed. Investigators from the Sûreté du Québec are trying to elucidate the circumstances of the events.
