Alien Romulus: everything you need to know about the new film in the legendary saga

© 20th Century

Anyone who thought the Alien franchise was dead will be disappointed. The saga returns to cinemas on August 14 with Alien: Romulus. This ninth film also seems particularly promising. The opportunity for us to reveal everything we already know about this new opus.

What it's going to be about ?

20th Century has already revealed the synopsis of this feature film. Here it is in full:

In this ninth installment of the immensely popular and enduring film series, a group of young people on a distant world finds himself confronted with the most terrifying life form in the universe.

It's rather light, but already enough to remind us of the essentials of what Alien is. This group of humans, whether they are soldiers, scientists or simple visitors, will undoubtedly be confronted with these frightening xenomorphic creatures.

Our colleagues from Collider evoke the idea that this film is close to a pure horror film in Friday the 13th mode and therefore does not necessarily bother with a very elaborate scenario to plunge us directly into an anxiety-provoking atmosphere and into the action.

What casting for Alien& nbsp;: Romulus ?

As for the distribution, we have much more solid information. Cailee Spaeny will be there, and she has a very solid CV after her appearances in Pacific Rim: Uprising and the excellent HBO series Mare of Easttown.

At her side, we will have the pleasure of meeting Isabela Merced (Rosaline), as well as David Jonsson (Rye Lane), Archie Reneaux (Shadow and Bone), or Spike Fearn who we found in The Batman .

As for the production, it is by Fede Alvarez. His name may not mean anything to you, but he left an excellent memory for moviegoers with the very good Don’t Breathe – The House of Darkness released in 2016.

The latter recently spoke about his meeting with Ridley Scott, the father of the Alien saga& nbsp;:

He came into the room and said, “Fede, what can I say”? This is really great. For me it was like… My family knows that it was one of the best moments of my life that a master like him, whom I admired so much, watched a film that I loved. I did, but especially something like this… and talks to me for an hour about what he liked about this film. One of the best compliments he gave me was: “The dialogues are excellent. You're the screenwriter ? Yes !”

Rest at judge on piece this new film which seems very promising on paper.
