An octogenarian lost his life in a fire which broke out in his residence in Saint-Raymond.

The man was transported in critical condition to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries overnight, according to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

Firefighters from the Saint-Raymond Fire and Public Safety Department have were called to extinguish the fire which spread to his residence, located on avenue Saint-Simon, in Saint-Raymond, around 7 p.m. Wednesday.

< p class="StyledBodyHtmlParagraph-sc-48221190-4 hnvfyV">The SQ mentioned that the fire was accidental in nature, but had no information as to the extent of the damage.
