Arrest of a man actively sought by Montreal police

A man wanted by Montreal police for kidnapping, forcible confinement and assault armed forces was arrested.

Michel Lecavalier, a 48-year-old white man, was arrested by police officers from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) in recent hours elsewhere in the province.

This is what the Sexual Assault Section of the Montreal Police Service (SPVM) indicated in a press release on Sunday morning.

The SPVM launched an appeal to the population on January 3 for help in locating this forty-year-old, who is expressed in French.

The SPVM appeal specified that rewards of up to $3,000 Canadian were offered by Info-Crime Montréal for information likely to lead to the murder x27;arrest of suspect.
