We have had the chance to go to the park to discover these new features, and in particular to interview Ben Spalding, producer of the impressive drone show “Disney Electrical Sky Parade”.

An extraordinary story like only Disney makes

Hired as a lifeguard in 1992 at the time of the opening of the park, Ben Spaldinghas gone through all the professions in the performing arts before becoming today one of the producers of the most beautiful shows that Disneyland Paris knows.< /p>

It is in particular to him and his teams that the we owe Disney Dream, the impressive demonstration of July 14 which was the largest drone show in Europe, then the drone show that we are going to discuss today.

Disneyland Paris, Dronisos and Parrot, a very French partnership

Ben explained to us to make a point of honor to work with French companies, proof of this is with Dronisos, a true leader in the use of drones to create unique shows.

The Bordeaux group works together with the teams of < strong>Disneyland Paris to offer every evening the Disney Electrical Sky Parade show, taking direct inspiration from the Main Street parade Electrical Parade which was performed in the park from its opening until 2003.

Finally, when weather conditions permit. Indeed, the drones modified by Dronisos are Parrot Bepop, again from a French company, which obviously have certain limits.

The impressive technical aspect of the drones used at Disneyland Paris

Usually equipped with a camera, the drones here are without one and are replaced by a set of LEDs thus illuminating the sky. The 600 gram drones were fitted with a GPS antenna, allowing the drones to maintain total precision during the show.

The most impressive point of these drones is probably the presence of pyrotechnic effects, such as the creation of smoke, but also sparks which light up the sky when Captain Hook's Jolly Roger passes by, stolen by Peter Pan.

Going at a speed of 25 km/h for the purposes of the show, the drones can only come into action if the weather conditions are right. We therefore learn from Ben thatThis requires the wind speed to be less than 25 km/h at an altitude of 120 meters high.

To ensure this, 3 drones are launched at levels of 40, 70 and 120 meters a few minutes before the start of the Disney Electrical Sky Parade to ensure that all parameters are met so that the show can take place safely.

Security, an essential point for Disneyland Paris

Because obviously, the Safety is an absolutely essential point for Disneyland Paris. With an average of 10 million visitors per year, there is no question of running the slightest risk.

For this, Ben specifies that the collaboration with Dronisos is essential, they being up to the rigorous demands of Disneyland Paris on this subject. A flight zone is established in advance in accordance with the directives of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation.

Called geofence, an electronic barrier is integrated into the drones so that they can never exceed the predefined zone. If anything causes a drone to exceed this famous geofence, it will automatically end up falling to this limit.

In this case, other drones may arrive in reinforcement so as not to visually impact the show. Also, it is the Disneyland Paris pyrotechnicians who validate or not the presence of pyrotechnic effects on a performance.

8 months of preparation, and this is only the beginning&amp ;nbsp;!

If you create a drone show like Disney Electrical Sky Parade in 8 months is already an achievement in itself, the fact of offering this show of 500 drones with an evening performance is all the more impressive.

The arrival of drone shows at Disneyland Paris is a point on which we are particularly lucky. Indeed, American parks, which regularly benefit from technological advances before us, are this time behind on the subject.

While rumors suggest an upcoming development, particularly with the opening of the American offices of Dronisos, at present, the French park already benefits from drone parades which are the envy of people across the Atlantic.

“Drones are infinite”

The producer of the Disney Electrical Sky Parade has stars in his eyes when he talks about the endless possibilities of drone shows, which according to him only require an area to fly, and of which only the imagination is a limit.

As such, we have been promised that the current show is a starting point for future experiences with even more magic, Disneyland Paris currently working on developing parades of future drones.

If we have not had confirmation on this subject, we still strongly suspect on our side that the future Frozen zone under construction at the parkWalt Disney Studios will be the perfect opportunity to see a new show that pushes the boundaries of drone spectacle.

Response in the coming months , where Disneyland Paris should show its desire here to offer drone parades in addition to fireworks and other laser projections, as a desire to always find new ways to amaze its audience.
