It has now been a while since the government in the person of Emmanuel Macron promised a leasing offer allowing you to drive an electric vehicle for 100 euros per month, concerning the most modest households.
This social leasing has been eagerly awaited sinceits announcement in March 2022, while it seems to never appear. The MG Motors brand communicates that social leasing has not yet arrived, but that it already offers its MG4 Standard at 99 euros per month, of course subject to takeover conditions and an ecological bonus of 7,000 euros.
Social leasing, under what conditions?
According to the president, this social leasing promising access to electric vehicles at 100 euros per month for the most modest households should arrive by 2024.
This is during a day dedicated to the sector automobile that the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire announced that this promise will actually be effective from January 1, 2024, in just 2 months. Aid of 13,000 eurosmaximum will concern long-term rental (LLD) or rental with purchase option (LOA). You should also know that, contrary to what one might think, used vehicles are also part of this offer.
The primary condition of accession is to being part of a household whose reference annual tax income does not exceed 14,000 euros, which means that this will not concern many people in France.

If the list of eligible vehicles has not yet been revealed and will be on December 15, the Minister of the Economy has already mentioned the eligibility of < strong>the Citroën ë-C3, the Renault Twingo E-Tech and the Fiat 500e.
If the government's communication was until now focused around electric vehicles at 100 euros per month, it now mentions social leasing of 100 euros without insurance, our colleagues from Capital referring to a document which indicates “a rental price less than 150 euros per month”.
We must therefore believe that the president's promise was intended to be a little too optimistic, even if in any case it should represent less than 20,000 contracts in 2024 still according to Capital.
