Emmy Awards: these two excellent series crushed the competition

They started as favorites, and they clearly did not lie to the predictions. The series Succession and The Bearlargely dominated the 75th Emmy Awards ceremony which was held this Monday, January 15 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

Succession concludes in style

While the fourth and final season of Succession was broadcast in 2023, the latter won the award for best drama series for the third time. In total, she won six Emmy Awards during this memorable evening, including the award for best actor in a drama series awarded to the excellent Kieran Culkin and that of best actress to the no less talented Sarah Snook.

In our top series for 2023, we mentioned this very well-written series inspired by the life of the family of billionaire Rupert Murdoch which alternates dramatic moments and scenes of pure comedy.

< h2>The Bear continues its momentum

The Bear, available on Disney+, also does a lot talk in recent years. The attention surrounding this production is not about to wane and the series won six Emmy Awards during the evening.

We can notably mention Ayo Edebiri ( best supporting actress) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (best supporting actor), as well as new star Jeremy Allen White (best actor). If you haven't yet seen The Bear, we can only encourage you to take the plunge, as this gem is so out of the ordinary.< /p>

Hungry, everything except a surprise guest

While Succession and The Beardominated the debates, it was difficult for other productions to emerge during this ceremony. The Netflix series Acharnés (Beef in VO) however knew how to make its little music heard. Note that this gem from the streaming platform also appears in our top 2023 series.

The original creation thus obtains the Emmy for best limited series. Its stars also collect awards: Steven Yeun (lead actor) and Ali Wong (lead actress). Finally, Lee Sung Jin leaves with his hands full with the Emmy for best screenplay and directing for his series.

Let's finally mention The White Lotus, Ted Lasso, Dahmer, and The Last of Uswho also received awards. After the Golden Globes, the ceremony also served to illustrate a sort of return to normal. Following the many months of strikes by actors and writers, Hollywood has its work cut out for it.

Are you surprised by this list and would you have liked to see other American series appear in the latter ? Tell us in the comments.
