Laval police officers were stingy with information on Friday after the death of a woman on Thursday evening in the Vimont district. Relatives and neighbors of the victim, Mireille Martin, 61, said she called the police two hours before being attacked, around 4:30 p.m.
The death of Mireille Martin, who had suffered serious injuries caused by a stab weapon, was pronounced at the hospital.
A man in his 30s, who sources identified as the victim's nephew, was arrested at the scene and taken to a hospital for evaluation. Jérôme Alfred Frigault now faces a charge of second degree murder.
The case has been transferred to the crimes against the person squad .
