Fed up with green ? WhatsApp would soon allow you to change the color of messages

In recent years, WhatsApp has continued to update its application to make it even more useful. But lately, Meta seems to be focusing on the aesthetic aspect of its messaging application. This May, the company launched a major update to the WhatsApp interface. The last time this interface saw significant changes was in 2021.

And now Meta plans to offer some options to allow users to customize the app's interface. For the moment, no official announcement has been made. But according to the WABetaInfo site, the latest beta version of WhatsApp for iOS includes a new screen that allows the user to choose the default “theme” for discussions.

Choose bubble color

According to the publication, WhatsApp would allow you to choose between green, blue, black, pink and purple themes. When the theme is chosen, it affects the color of the bubbles in which messages are placed, but also the default background image. So, if the user finds the green color of WhatsApp too monotonous, they can choose another one. This choice will only affect the display of messages on his smartphone, but not those of the people he is chatting with.

And that's not all, since previously, WABetaInfo also discovered a selector which would allow you to choose the color of the application brand.

A more personalized interface

At the moment, it is unclear when the new customization option will be available. But it would be a highly requested feature. “This addition will be particularly important because users have long requested the ability to customize chat bubble colors, reflecting their desire to ;a more personalized experience”, writes WABetaInfo. Furthermore, it should be remembered that certain competitors, such as Telegram, already offer many ways to personalize the interface of their messaging.
