Born in 1972, the Renault 5 is an automobile monument in France. In 2024, the little R5 will make its big comeback, in “electric” obviously, with the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric. For Renault designers, it was an opportunity to reinterpret the many details anchored in the collective imagination in the light of electricity and the 21st century.
Renault 5 E-Tech Electric, guaranteed success for the manufacturer ?
The new Renault 5 E-Tech electric is the first vehicle entirely designed on AmpR Small, the new Ampere platform dedicated to electric vehicles in the B segment. In terms of looks, the hood ventilation grille of the original model has been reinvented to be more in tune with the times. It is replaced by a charge indicator whose graphic forms an emblematic number 5 which lights up when the driver approaches the vehicle. Also note a welcome sequence in the form of a wink sent by the pupil-shaped LED headlights, to symbolize man/machine interaction.
Five colors at launch (and up to 400 km range)
Note that the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric will be offered at launch with 5 colors, in order to maintain the pop side desired by Renault, starting of course with a yellow color, but also a white pearly. Special series are already planned.

Under the hood, the electric motor of this new Renault 5 E-Tech Electric is more compact than that of Mégane E-Tech Electric (of which our test can be found here) and Scénic E-Tech Electric, from which it is nevertheless derived.
This will be offered in three power levels, namely 110, 90 or 70 kW. It will be coupled to a 52 kWh battery, enough to give “up to 400 km” autonomy according to the manufacturer.
