< p class="StyledBodyHtmlParagraph-sc-48221190-4 hnvfyV">A fire broke out during the night from Friday to Saturday in an apartment building located on Clarence Street between Cumberland and King Edward in Ottawa. The flames, which caused no injuries, displaced several residents of the building before being brought under control by firefighters.
It was around 3:07 a.m. that the Ottawa Fire Department was notified of a fire in an apartment located on the fourth floor of a building in six floors. The only occupant of the apartment who was on the balcony was forced to jump to the balcony below due to the intense flames, according to the Fire Department.

Once on scene, firefighters confirmed heavy smoke and flames coming from the apartment in question and sounded a second alarm to request additional resources to the scene.

Firefighters extinguished the flames before they spread beyond the apartment where the fire broke out, explains the 27 Fire Department ;Ottawa in a press release sent to Radio-Canada.
The Ottawa Fire Department confirms it has displaced 16 residents from the building due to the fire. The latter were placed on a bus where they received assistance from the emergency services.
