A man who was convicted of drunk driving 21 times may hold a Canadian record, according to police in Abbotsford, British Columbia
The police department said officers were called to the scene of a motorcycle crash in August 2022, where they found a person who was a passenger on the motorcycle and being treated for serious injuries.
Police say the owner and driver of the motorcycle was known for a history of impaired driving and that& #x27;he tried to escape before the police arrived.
They say an investigation led to the arrest of Roy Heide, 66, whose blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit at the time of the accident.
Police say Roy Heide pleaded guilty to several impaired driving offenses on December 18, receiving a total prison sentence of just under five years, and that he has now been convicted of impaired driving 21 times.
